Our Little Guy

Chinese Name: Wu (Surname ) Bi Xi
Birthdate : 9/2008 Currently 2 1/2 years old
Resides in : Wuhan, Hubei Province

We received a moderately detailed report of Joshua's growth and development when we accepted his referral in August of last year. We are delighted that he has been under the loving care of his foster parents for over 2 years. Here is a little of what was written:

Little Bi Xi is an outgoing and active boy. He likes to share his food and toys with other children. All the neighbors love him and he enjoys going to market with grandmother and pulls her hand to get candy. He doesn't like to wear hat and will pull it off and throw it down. He eats well and likes to watch cartoons. His current measurements as of 1/2011 are as follows:

Head: 50cm
Weight : 10kg
Teeth: 20
Height: 89cm

As we prepare for our travel, our hearts are heavy as we consider the massive changes that will be becoming up for Joshua. In his eyes, we (the very strange looking people) will be taking him from the only home he has ever known. He will be saying goodbye to his home country and his native language. We would be lying if we did not admit that there is a measure of guilt in this process. However, we know our Lord and Savior has ordained that Joshua is to be part of our family. We will mourn with him and for him as he goes through this difficult process. Our prayer is that God will see fit to knit our hearts together in a way that only He can, that Joshua's heart will find a measure of peace as the days unfold and that He will give us the wisdom to best meet our son's needs.
